1. Shen Clinic Eye Bag Removal Review - Derick / Google Reviews

Review Date - March 2023

I had my eyebags removed at Shen Clinic with excellent results - both eyes are symmetrical and I am very satisfied.

The whole process was very well managed and I don't feel much pain after the procedure although my eyes look swollen at first.  With their RF treatment, the swell subsided very quickly.  There was some numbness on one side of my face at first but that disappeared after a few months. Highly recommended!

It was an amazing experience for me! 😄

It was simple and fuss free to schedule an appointment with Dr Shens and the customer service was commendable. During the consultation, Dr Shens was patient and precise in guiding me through on what to expect during the breast augmentation procedure.

It has been about a month since I completed my surgery and the recovery process has been smooth, also really appreciate the minimal scar technique used by Dr Shens. 10/10 recommended! 🌟

Thank you Dr Shen for giving me a new life and to the staff for making the process a pleasant one. Definitely would recommend visiting Shens, thank you once again for giving me new confidence in myself.

5. Shens Clinic Double Eyelid Review - Tracey Ng / Google Reviews

Review Date - September 2022

I am very glad that I came to this clinic.

Communications through whatsapp and phone calls, the staff are very knowledgeable and patient in explaining everything that I am confused about. So the appointment was arranged.

Excellent team of staff and the nurses who attended to me were gentle and caring.

First met with Dr Shenthilkumar Naidu, he is friendly and assuring throughout the entire process. I felt very safe being in his hands during the procedure.

Even all the after care reviews visits, Dr Shen is very attentive and patient in explaining to me about my condition.

What really moved me is, when he noticed there is still required "a minor adjustment" to be done, he did it without further charges.

Dr Shens, a doctor who is Skillful and a precise doctor who truly cares about his patient. His medical ethics are truly admirable. Such a reliable Doctor and his amazing team of attentive staff from Shens Clinic- a place I would definitely recommend to my friends.

One thing for sure, I WILL BE BACK again for any future self-improvement plans with Shens Clinic and only.

6. Shen Clinic Eye Bag Removal Review - Analeigh Yang / Google Reviews

Review Date - August 2022

My experience at Shens Clinic was top-notch. The nurses were on their A game at all times and definitely made me feel safe in an uncomfortable, new situation. This was my first surgery ever in my life and thus my first time being put under general anaesthesia. Dr. Shens was SO comforting and sweet during the whole experience, and I felt very safe being in his hands during the procedure.

Dr. Shens is obviously an extremely skilled surgeon, but he is also an artist and trusting him with the facelift procedure and removing my eye bags was the best decision I've ever made. Together, the staff operates like a well-oiled machine-- it's really inspiring and beautiful to watch the flow! Worth every penny!!! I love everyone at Shens Clinic and can't wait to explore what the future has in store for me there.

See everyone soon for my next Rejuran appointment ❤️

7. Dr Shen Acne Scar Laser Treatment Review - Clinton Yeo / Google Reviews

Review Date - August 2022

It was my first time doing any laser treatment, and I am very glad that I came to this clinic. Dr Shens is friendly and assuring throughout the entire process. The procedure is fast and painless after applying the numbing cream.

The front desk staff are very knowledgeable, accommodating and patient in explaining everything that I am confused about. There's already a clear difference in my skin's improvement. I have since gone there for my third session of my acne scars treatments, and many of my facial dark spots have lightened.

I would recommend my friends to come here :)

8. Dr Shen Laser Liposuction Review - S K / Google Reviews

Review Date - 2022

Did my vaser liposuction here, and it was one of the best decision I have made for myself!

The whole team, from the doctor to the nurses to the staff were nothing but super helpful throughout the process.

What really exceeded my expectations was the aftercare, I don’t think I have come across any doctors that are so diligent with the aftercare. I had some fluid buildup after the procedure (which is common), and it took a few visits for it to completely go away, and the team were always super accommodating.

I am now approximately 4 months post surgery, and absolutely loving how well defined my abs look! Thank you, Dr Shen and your awesome team :)

Why Did I Go For Breast Augmentation?

Since young, I have been humiliated for having small boobs. Unless you are a flat-chested woman, you will never understand the pain of it.

As I grew up, having always needed to wear padded bras got really uncomfortable – and with that, my consideration on having Breast Augmentation is firm.

I was fearful of going under the knife initially. But at the end of the day, to be who I really want to be, the fear must be overcomed.

Most people might feel the fear after deciding on plastic surgery, be it going under knife or not, but I was all prepared mentally. I know what I have always wanted to do since I was still in high school.

Be Who I Want To Be

And now with the arising trends for plastic surgery in Singapore, I took a bold step going under the knife – in beautifying myself. Many may disagree, but the less you care about others, the happier you will be.

Now that I had my Breast Augmentation surgery done, I am full of confidence, with a beautiful body every woman long for. And I am proud to step forward to share my experience with you.

Thank you Dr. Shens | Shen’s Clinic for helping to gain the confidence in me.

I am finally able to wear anything I like! ..

Breast augmentation - Dr Shens or Dr Colin Tham?
By Mei Fen, May 29, 2017

Hi Michelle, thanks for sharing. My friend just had breast implant procedure with the other doctor and she doesn't like the change. I don't want to judge the doctor based on my friend's opinion though. However, I'm going for the same procedure too with doctor shens... I've read some good reviews about him and I'm going for a consultation with him tmr! Feeling both excited and nervous. Hope I'll get the result I want... wish me luck!

11. Shens Clinic Double Eyelid Review - Luvverlyn

My New Eyes - Scarless Double Eyelid Creation
Review Date - February 5, 2015

DST is different from the traditional suture method as it reduces breakage rate by linking skin to interlocked sutures. Additionally, the folds and creases created are scarless. There is no incision involved. The sutures are well hidden inside the eyelid to create the desired crease. Natural-looking double eyelids!

Thanks to Daphne's recommendation, I did my double eyelid surgery at Centre For Cosmetic Rejuvenation & Surgery. I knew I was in good hands of Dr Shenthilkumar (also known as Dr Shens), who has done more than 2000 eyelid surgeries so far. Plus, he is Korean-trained and Ministry of Health accredited.

FAQ

1. How Do I Prepare for a Surgical Consultation?

During your first consultation, you’ll be required to fill up the necessary forms prior to the actual consultation with your surgeon.

It would be good to come in with a general idea of what kind of procedure you would like to have and your expectations. You could also prepare for your consultation beforehand by coming up with a list of questions such as:

  • The surgical options you have
  • The risks and possible complications
  • What you can expect from the procedure
  • The type of anaesthesia used
  • Recovery time for the surgery
  • Any before or after photos of other surgeries your doctor has performed

Your plastic surgeon will work with you in managing your concerns and expectations. Some of these would be on:
  • What results you can expect from the procedure
  • How the surgery will be performed
  • Whether you are healthy enough to undergo the procedure
  • What kind of anaesthesia would be used
  • How you can prepare for the procedure
  • What you can expect during recovery
  • Operating room costs and surgeon’s fees
  • Whether the procedure is MediSave claimable
  • Other alternative procedures
  • Follow up appointments

While you can choose to confirm your surgery on the same day as your consultation, you should not feel obligated to make a decision immediately! Understandably, it may all be overwhelming and you should take it at a pace you’re comfortable with.

On some occasions, one consultation may not be enough for you to give the green light and new questions may arise. If so, that is perfectly normal. You can always call for a second consultation, and make sure to take note of the questions that need to be addressed before you can comfortably make a decision.

2. Is Singapore a Safe Country to Undergo Plastic Surgery?

Because of the strict regulations set in place by the Ministry of Health, you may rest comfortable knowing that plastic surgery in Singapore is safe. Before they can operate, plastic surgeons must complete years of rigorous training and testing. All licensed medical professionals will also be registered with the Singapore Medical Council, which will guarantee that surgical protocol is followed.

To ensure that they have the necessary expertise to provide the finest results, many plastic surgeons even enroll in additional specialised training programmes locally and overseas.

3. How Painful is Plastic Surgery?

The level of pain experienced during plastic surgery might vary depending on the specific procedure being performed, the patient's pain tolerance, and the surgical technique used. Commonly, plastic surgery involves making incisions, which can cause some discomfort, but most surgeons use anesthesia and pain medications to reduce pain during and after the surgery.

For minor procedures such as Botox injections or facial fillers, the pain is usually mild, and many people describe it as a slight pinching or burning sensation. However, for more invasive procedures such as breast augmentation, tummy tuck, or facelift surgery, the pain can be more intense and may need prescription pain medications for a few days or weeks after the surgery.

4. How Long Does a Plastic Surgery Last?

The duration of a plastic surgery procedure might vary based on the particular procedure being done, the extent of the operation, and the surgeon's ability and experience. While some treatments can be finished in a few hours, others might require many hours or even several sessions.

For instance, a facelift process can take from 3-6 hours depending on the complexity of the surgery, whereas a breast augmentation procedure normally lasts 1-2 hours. Treatments involving many body parts or requiring more complicated techniques may require more time to complete.

It's also crucial to remember that the length of the process does not always equal to the length of the healing time. Recovery times can differ depending on the treatment, the patient's overall health, and their capacity for recovering. While recovery from certain surgeries may take many weeks, others can allow for a quicker return to daily activities.

Before undergo any treatment, it's crucial to go over the expected length of the surgery and recovery period with your plastic surgeon so you know exactly what to anticipate.

5. Are Plastic Surgeries Reversible?

Depending on the specific operation being performed, some procedures can be reversed or corrected, while others may not be reversible or may require additional surgery to correct.

For instance, breast implants can be removed or replaced, and the results of a rhinoplasty (nose job) can be modified with a revision procedure.

However, some procedures, such as a facelift or a tummy tuck, can be difficult to reversed once they have been performed. These procedures involve removing extra skin and tissue, which cannot simply be replaced once removed. In some cases, additional surgery may be necessary to correct the results of these procedures if they are unsatisfactory.

6. Types of Eye Bag Removal Procedures

a. Laser blepharoplasty

Laser blepharoplasty involves making an incision under the lower eyelid to remove the fat tissues using a carbon dioxide laser. There’s also little to no bleeding involved because the CO2 laser beam seals the blood vessels while it cuts the tissues.

Similar to the surgery method, scarring is less likely to happen because there’s less wound contraction.

  • Laser blepharoplasty recovery time : 7-10 days on average
  • Laser blepharoplasty cost : $2,800 to $5,000

b. Non-surgical 4D laser eye bag removal

If you’re looking for the most comfortable and safe method, then you’d want to go with the non-surgical 4D laser eye bag treatment. It’s a non-invasive procedure that leaves no scar and requires little to no downtime.

It’s a two-part procedure that lasts about 45 minutes per session. It uses two types of lasers: one for collagen stimulation and the other to smoothen the skin under the eyelids.

However, it’s not suitable for individuals with large eye bags, so only those with small and medium-sized eye bags can undergo this procedure.

4D Eye Bag Removal Price Singapore

A single session of the non-surgical 4D laser eye bag removal costs about $900 to $1,200.

c. Radiofrequency eye bag removal

This is the recommended method if you’re afraid to go under the knife and can’t afford the longer recovery period.

It’s the most in-demand procedure in Singapore because it requires virtually no downtime and can be done in less than an hour. A special micro-needle is inserted into the lower eyelids that emits radio frequency to get rid of excess fat deposits.

It also injects poly-L-lactic acid into the lower eyelids, increasing collagen production which then results in skin tightening on the lower eyelid area.

There are no incisions involved in this procedure, so there will be no scarring or any discomfort during the treatment. In fact, it’s even called a “lunchtime procedure” because anyone can have it during their break from work.

Radiofrequency Eyebag Removal Cost

Expect to shell out anywhere from $3,200 to $4,600 for it, so it’s definitely not a budget-friendly procedure.

d. Scarless eye bag removal

Surgery remains one of the most effective ways to get rid of eye bags, but that doesn’t mean it will leave unwanted scars. It’s a great thing that medical technology has moved past the point where surgeries produce scars.

It’s considered an invasive procedure where the surgeon makes a small incision on the lower eyelid area to remove the fat tissues, which are the main cause of eye bags.

The results of the scarless eye bag removal surgery are proven to be permanent, so rest assured that those puffiness under your eyes won’t reappear anytime soon. The downtime of this surgery may take up to three weeks.

Scarless Eyebag Removal Cost Singapore

Scarless eye bag removal surgery ranges from $2,000 to $5,000.

7. Is Eye Bag Removal Permanent?

Depending on the eye bag treatment technique, results can be temporary or last over a long period of time.

Eye bags removal is not permanent as the aging process does not stop for anyone. Skin becomes lax and ultimately loses its elasticity over time due to inevitable age-related deterioration of collagen. Moreover, the collagen production which is induced by treatments like dermal fillers, diminishes with the passage of time resulting in returning of the eye bags.

The results of treatments like scarless eye bag removal, transconjunctival blepharoplasty and other eye bag surgical techniques; however, may remain persistent for longer periods as they remove those eye bags which are formed by fat accumulation. Such eye bags will not return unless fats get collected again in the lower eyelids.

8. How Safe Is Eye Bag Surgery?

It is proven by research studies that eye bag removal surgery is safe if done under the hands of a qualified plastic surgeon as it removes orbital fat safely in a quantified manner. [1, 2] The chances of potential complications, like lid malpositioning, haemorrhage, infections, corneal abrasion, etc, are minimal and can be prevented and easily dealt with by various therapeutic measures.
