A third of youth in Singapore say plastic surgery OK

(Straitstimes): One in three youth here think it is perfectly all right to go for cosmetic procedures at their age - with 14 out of the 1,400 surveyed admitting that they have already undergone such treatment.Cosmetic treatment purely to improve looks, and not for medical reasons, has become very popular in countries like the United States and South Korea, where aesthetic treatment is thriving.

A team of doctors and a dentist decided to find out if it was the same here and studied more than 1,400 responses from medical and junior college students aged 16 to 21.

The results were published in the Singapore Medical Journal.

Only 1 per cent said they have had cosmetic procedures done, mainly to the face, but the team implied that the figure could be higher, saying: "A major limitation of the present study is its dependence on honest responses."

Although more than a third approved of youth going for cosmetic treatments, almost two in three said they would be embarrassed if people w…

(Mirror) - This included five boob jobs, lip injections, botox, teeth whitening and semi-permanent make-up.
When Krystina Butel decided to get her caricature done on holiday, she never thought she would spend the next fifteen years trying to look just like it.

Krystina, 30, has forked out over a whopping £130,000 on plastic surgery to transform herself into the CARTOON that she bought for a tenner in Ibiza.

This has included five boob jobs, lip injections, botox, teeth whitening and semi-permanent make-up. Salon owner Krystina even has heart shaped nipples to complete the look…

She now plans to have an eyebrow lift, butt implants as well as further breast augmentations, botox, fillers and lip implants so she can resemble the artwork even more.

"My caricature keeps me going with my dream. She looks exactly how I want to look like. I know I'm closer to it now than I was fifteen years ago but there's always something else I can get in terms of surgery to be more like it…

New 'Human Barbie' is just 16 years old

(Mirror): Lolita Richi boasts the same body proportions as the doll and claims she eats whatever she wants.
Meet the new 'Human Barbie' who claims to be the best doll-like beauty yet despite being just 16 years old.
Lolita Richi, from Kiev, Ukraine, boasts the same impossible body proportions and plain facial features as the popular children's toy.
She has a tiny 20-inch waist, a 32F bra size and wears contact lenses that mimic the wide-eyed doll stare.

Lolita maintains that her walking-talking doll looks were achieved without plastic surgery, dieting or Photoshop.

And her striking looks have gained her thousands of followers on social media.
The outspoken high-school student, who is now temporarily living in Turkmenistan, said: "I think I've achieved this image better than anyone else. I'm the ultimate vamp woman. I haven't even heard of Valeria Lukyanov.

Fat-shaming plastic surgery billboard vandalized

JACKSON, MI – A billboard for a local plastic surgery office with the slogan "friends don't let friends muffin top" has been vandalized.

The billboard was spray painted to include "You're beautiful!" and the two muffins shown atop a pair of jeans were also given smiley faces. The slogan and the Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery office logo were spray painted over.

Jackson Police Deputy Chief John Holda said Monday morning his office had not received a report of the graffiti.

Tammy Nelis, office manager at Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery in Jackson, said the billboard in the 700 block of Brown Street was likely vandalized over the weekend. She said the spray paint appeared sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

"It's truly an unfortunate situation," Nelis said. "We'll be making a police report."

Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery removed this advertisement, which drew criticism from several Facebook fans and community members.

Best plastic surgery in Singapore?

Based on our blog search keywords analytics, we have quite a number of people searching the above phrase. It’s a simple question but after sifting through the internet, it’s not something that we could answer specifically to.
If you were to Google the above phrase, this is the list of search results -
You will have a list of advertisements on top and the right column; and also a list of sites providing general information mixed with a list of plastic surgery clinics and surgeons.
So how do you decide which plastic surgery is the best? Ideally, the answers to this phrase would require further more specific questions e.g.: Are you referring to reconstructive plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery i.e. what procedures are you referring to?
The next question is how do we measure or quantify that? There is no established clinical performance metric to measure the competence of a particular plastic surgeon or cosmetic surgeon at the moment in Singapore, not that we know of. Even there is such a pe…
